How to make a snowman on wooden peg

A snowman on the traditional wooden peg is easy and super cute DIY project for Christmas. It’s perfect for presents as a card holder or as decoration on the Christmas tree…I leave it to your imagination 🙂

December…December….so many things to do, so many things to prepare and buy. And if you are creative person you may feel little disoriented because you want to make this and that, oh and that thing that you saw on the Pinterest, and list is growing. So if you are feeling like you are on the river full of rapids, I can tell you – I know that feeling!

So take deep breathe and find 2-3 hours to make this cute Snowmens with your kids. I promise it will be fun!

For this project you’ll need:

– traditional 7 cm wooden pegs
– acrylic color (white, black, orange, pink is optional)
– brushes
– lead pencil
– worsted yarn
– 3,5 mm hook
– needle with blunt top
– scissors
– fork
– glue gun.

First you paint the pegs in white. Use lead pencil and mark eyes and buttons. Dip the lead pencil in black acrylic color and draw the eyes and buttons. Then, if you like, draw pink cheeks with back of the brush, and after that draw the carrot nose with thin brush. Leave it to dry.

Take the hook and yarn and make 25 chains, cut the yarn and fasten off. And that is the shawl! Tie it around the peg.

Now let’s make a hat!

Make 8 chains and connect with slip stitch in the first chain.
1. round
2 chains, 1 half double crochet in every chain, connect with slip stitch in the second chain from the beginning of the round.

2. – 4. round
2 chains, 7 half double crochet, connect with slip stitch in the second chain from the beginning of the round.
